28th Mar 1981 - 22nd Feb 2023

Karen was a truly beautiful person. Her smile was infectious and her love of family was remarkable.

Despite Karen's brain tumour diagnosis (2004), she was determined to live a full life and create beautiful memories every day.

It was humbling to witness the courage, strength and positivity that Karen demonstrated each day. She didn't express these virtues through words, but through her actions.

Karen battled memory, cognitive & visual impairment. Over the years, she repeatedly endured brutal chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments and yet she didn't complain or seek sympathy. Karen simply woke up, smiled and embraced the day.

Karen took pride in ensuring that most people never witnessed the confusion, fatigue, sickness, pain, anxiety and stress. Therefore, it seemed inconceivable that Karen was suffering. It was our responsibility to support Karen and yet somehow, she became the example that we all drew strength from.

It was clear that family was at the centre of Karen's universe. She admired her big sister and looked to Amanda for guidance. She was immensely proud of her nieces and nephews and found great joy in spending time with them. Karen also loved to spend time with her parents, dragging Diane and Jim around the local shops as often as possible.

Isabella, our beautiful daughter was so lucky to have Karen as her mother. Her smile was no brighter than when she was around children. She was born to nurture and it was beautiful to witness. It's impossible to describe the feeling of returning to a home that was filled with Karen's love.

Karen's death leaves a void, which cannot be filled. Life seems unimaginable without her.

Thank you Karen for the happiness you brought into our lives and for the purpose you gave to mine. You are missed every second of every day.

I love you x
